Job Description

We are working with a global trading house seeking a dynamic Commercial Oil Operator to join their growing operations team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end execution and logistics of refined oil product trades, with a strong focus on African markets, covering both inland and seaborne flows.
Responsibilities:
Oversee full trade lifecycle for diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, and jetoil across African markets.
Manage logistical execution via vessels, trucks, rail, and pipelines - ensuring efficient movement of cargo inland and through seaborne routes.
Coordinate with traders, suppliers, receivers, shipping teams, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Handle documentation, demurrage, laytime calculations, and customs clearance for cross-border movements.
Monitor and manage storage positions, blending activities, and inventory reconciliations across multiple terminals.
Track and mitigate exposure to operational risks (e.g. delivery shortfalls, quality issues, delays).
Maintain strong relationships with local service providers, transport companies, and terminals.
Support with deal confirmations, invoicing, cost control, and reconciliation of trade economics.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and internal trading risk policies.
Requirements:
4-6 years' experience in physical oil operations (diesel/gasoline/jet) within a trading environment.
Proven track record in executing logistics across African markets, including both inland and seaborne operations.
Strong knowledge of truck, rail, and vessel movements; experience managing complex supply chains and multi-modal logistics.
Familiarity with storage, blending operations, and inventory control.
Detail-oriented with excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working closely with commercial trading teams and understanding of trading P&L impact.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
