Job Summary:

The Commercial Officer is responsible for supporting all commercial operations of the company, including supplier coordination, contract follow-ups, pricing support, documentation handling, and assisting with Letters of Credit (LC) and trade transactions. This role ensures smooth communication with Arabic-speaking suppliers, government entities, and regional partners, while maintaining high accuracy in documentation and commercial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial Operations

Support day-to-day commercial activities, including preparing quotations, commercial proposals, and price comparisons. Review contract terms, commercial conditions, and payment terms. Coordinate with internal departments (procurement, finance, logistics) to ensure alignment on project requirements.
2. Supplier & Client Coordination

Communicate with suppliers and clients in both Arabic and English. Request and evaluate offers, negotiate basic terms, and follow up on delivery schedules. Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
3. Documentation & Compliance

Prepare and review commercial documentation: Proforma invoices Purchase orders Delivery notes Packing lists Certificates (origin, quality, etc.) Ensure compliance with contract terms and company procedures. Maintain accurate commercial files for audit and reference.
4. LC & Trade Finance Support

Assist in reviewing incoming Letters of Credit (LCs) and support the LC Specialist/Finance team with required documentation. Prepare initial drafts of documents required for LC presentation (invoice, packing list, COO requests, etc.). Coordinate with freight forwarders, inspection companies, and customs brokers when required.
5. Market & Business Analysis

Collect market data, supplier price lists, and competitor information. Assist management with commercial reports and business performance analysis. Support in identifying new suppliers and business opportunities in Arabic-speaking markets.
6. Reporting & Administration

Prepare weekly reports on commercial activities, order status, and supplier communication. Maintain structured records of all commercial correspondence, offers, and contract files. Provide administrative support to the commercial department as needed.
Required Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, or related field.
Experience:

2-5 years experience in commercial operations, procurement, trade, or sales support. Experience in the GCC or Middle East region preferred. Exposure to LC documentation or international trade is an advantage.
Language Skills

Native Arabic speaker - mandatory Strong English (written & spoken)
Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of commercial documentation. Basic understanding of LC procedures and Incoterms (advantage). Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to draft professional emails in both Arabic and English.

Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Professional attitude and strong follow-up skills.
