to manage the commercial aspects of civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contract management, cost control, budget tracking, and ensuring financial efficiency across projects, while working closely with project, procurement, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Review, interpret, and negotiate contract terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Monitor project costs and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Handle claims, variations, and change orders in line with contractual agreements.
Support tendering and bid processes by providing commercial input and cost analysis.
Conduct risk analysis related to project commercial exposure.
Liaise with the finance team to ensure proper billing, payments, and cash flow.
Assist in the preparation and review of commercial documents, BOQs, and subcontractor agreements.
Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations from a commercial perspective.
Maintain accurate records of project financial performance and contractual correspondence.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Required).
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial engineering, cost control, or contracts.
Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT, etc.).
Proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel, and project management or ERP software.
Knowledge of pricing, procurement, and construction methodologies.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience in infrastructure, real estate, or large-scale civil projects.
Familiarity with contract law and construction regulations.
Professional certification in commercial or contract management is an advantage.
