Job Description

The Role

Oversee the commercial and contractual management of construction projects from inception to completion. o Prepare, manage, and track project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows. o Lead the preparation and negotiation of contracts, subcontracts, and procurement strategies. o Ensure accurate valuation of completed works, prepare payment applications, and manage variations/claims. o Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessments to maximise project profitability. o Manage change control processes and evaluate the financial impact of project variations. o Work closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients to ensure cost and contract compliance. o Ensure timely submission of commercial reports, including monthly cost/value reconciliations (CVRs), cost-to-complete reports, and project financial summaries. o Handle contract administration, including extension of time claims, dispute resolution, and final accounts. o Ensure adherence to legal and contractual obligations and manage contract documentation. o Provide commercial guidance and support to project teams and senior management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. o MRICS, MCIOB, or similar professional qualification is highly desirable. o Minimum of 10 years of commercial management experience in the construction industry. o Proven track record in managing commercial aspects of major infrastructure, building, or civil works projects. o Strong understanding of FIDIC, NEC, or other standard forms of contract. o Proficiency in commercial and cost management software (e.g., Candy, CostX, MS Excel). o Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. o Strong leadership and stakeholder management experience. o Familiarity with local construction regulations and legal frameworks (e.g., UAE, GCC if relevant).
