Job Description
Position: Commercial Kitchen Equipment - Designer
General Summary:
- Designing Kitchen, provide elevations, MEP and shop drawings as per the approved design.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and implement kitchen designs and kitchen equipment following company standards.
- Coordinate with a design team including architectural, interior, electrical and lighting designers
- Draw kitchen/bar plans and elevations
- Coordinate electrical, plumbing and HVAC requirements
- Prepare shop drawings for equipment fabricated in-house
- Perform site visits and work closely with Sofia Support Services Team if needed
- Drawing and designing of kitchen layouts, elevations, sectional details, M/E drawings with all relevant information, recess drawings with all relevant information and all other drawing work necessary for the successful completion of kitchen design jobs
- Assistance in preparing tender documents such as tender drawings, equipment listings, specifications, manufacturer’s leaflets, etc
- Site visits, attendance in site meetings, site measurements as and when required
- Control of kitchen subcontractor's submission of documents, such as shop drawings, M/E drawings, as-built drawings, equipment specifications etc
- Internal organization, maintenance of technical files, manufacturers catalogues documents, test certificates, manuals, regulations and documents from authorities, etc
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or other relevant design software
- Previous cabinetry knowledge as well as some 20/20 knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
- Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- An exceptional level of attention to detail.
- Excellent Skill and knowledge in AutoCAD 2010 and above, AutoCAD Revit, Google Sketch-Up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator & Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Education and Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor Degree; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working Conditions:
- Mainly office-based and can spend long hours at a computer or drawing desk requiring periods of concentration.
- Not all the work is individual; you could be working with a team of other technicians, architects, contractors, rs or design engineers.
- You'll typically have to meet with clients and designers to understand their requirements for a design. You could also be providing technical advice to designers, manufacturers on shop floors and engineers on construction sites.
- Depending on the industry and the role, you may be required to visit building sites or manufacturing facilities. You could be based in a construction site office for the duration of a project.
