The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG\xc2\xae) properties in Dubai Festival City consist of four hotel brands. These include the luxury brand InterContinental, the superior upscale Crowne Plaza, the lavish long-stay InterContinental Residence Suites and the vibrant mid-scale Holiday Inn. In addition to over 1000+ bedrooms, the four properties boast a selection of high quality restaurants and bars, an impressive 3,800 square meter Event Centre across two levels, the 5,000 square meters Festival Arena by InterContinental, the luxurious Spa InterContinental, state-of -the-art gymnasium facilities, and swimming pool facilities.

At the moment we\'re looking for a Commercial Director to join our team at InterContinental Hotels Group\xc2\xaeDubai Festival City \xe2\x80\x93 One of the most iconic brand clusters worldwide.

As a Commercial Director you will be responsible for developing a commercial strategy covering all segments and channels to maximize total revenue and profit performance as well as market share penetration. You will drive the planning and execution of the commercial strategy and activity through supporting the Revenue management team, Sales, C&E, Marketing, e-Commerce and PR teams, through working effectively with area support teams.

A little taste of your day-to-day:
  • Accountable for driving the top-line budget and forecast by implementing a commercial strategy and business plan through all available business tools and intelligence.
  • Deliver the budgeted revenues across all revenue streams, including but not limited to All Rooms, GC&E, F&B, Leisure, and Spa, with control over the cost of sale, route to market, channel shift, and marketing/ecommerce opportunities.
  • Work with the GM and Finance to ensure profits are maximized in line with GOP targets set.
  • Ensure Business Review Guidelines (current to + 5 years) encompass all Pricing & Rate Quotation Strategies, aimed at maximizing all pricing components of sales and catering opportunities, and achieving a positive group market share.
  • Support various on-property teams in coordinating hotel-level marketing, sales, and public relations activities. Liaise with regional support and brand teams to provide maximum benefit to hotel performance.
  • Support the Revenue Managers/On Property Revenue Manager establishing an optimal mix, review and validate forecasts, develop strategies for different demand periods, and review and approve retail and group pricing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, owners, hotel teams, and GSOs to ensure the commercial benefit of the hotel.
  • Liaise with the AGM in presenting commercial strategies to key stakeholders.
  • Consistently conform to IHG brand standards and corporate identity, utilising all communication tools.
  • Keep in touch with market trends and review/amend strategies accordingly in line with evolving market conditions.
  • Monitor competitors\' activities and assist in marketing intelligence.
  • Participate in the leadership activity of the Hotel and Region.
  • Actively solicit and book business following hotel standards.
  • Travel when required to promote the hotel and develop potential business in other markets.
What we need from you:

Have at least over 3 years of experience in the following:
  • Hospitality/travel industry, focusing on revenue generation or commercial services.
  • Presenting sales plans, presentations, etc., to senior-level executives and various constituent groups.
  • Operating within a collaborative/matrixed environment.
  • Utilizing departmental financial data to inform strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Assessing and identifying business opportunities.
  • Managing a sales or commercial team.
Additionally:
  • High level of common sense and high skill of problem solving and decision making
  • Able to travel on frequent basis and culturally adaptable
  • Pro-active approach, and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Degree from a university or hotel school preferably in business administration or tourism/hospitality management
  • Fluency in English.
