Position Summary The Commercial Analyst position is a key role on the trading desk, enabling strong candidates to get immersed in a P&L driven environment, develop core analytical skills, leverage and develop the firm\xe2\x80\x99s \xe2\x80\x98Vista\xe2\x80\x99 management reporting and risk management system and integrate into the Vitol culture and organisation. We have a number of open roles within our Oil, Energy Transition and Utilities matrices. Key Responsibilities include:
Create & maintain a high-quality position summary and daily pricing exposure for the respective business unit
Compile daily profitability reports and management information enabling brokers to determine how market moves are impacting their positions
Ensure new business, products or markets are accurately set up, documented and reflected in a fair & transparent manner
Help to maintain curve integrity and the Mark to Market of the trading activity
Partner with our Technology team to work on sustainable improvements & solutions on our CTRM
Interface with multiple internal stakeholders on essential periodic processes e.g. invoicing and accounts closing
Conduct ad-hoc analysis and troubleshooting as required by brokers, traders & management
Constantly review process to understand areas of weakness, generate and act on robust ideas to create efficiencies and embed best practice
Qualifications
Graduate degree with an excellent academic record, preferably in an analytical discipline
1-4 years in a commercial, analytical role in the energy major, investment bank or consulting firm ideally with a focus on energy sector
Strong quantitative and analytical capability and comfort with Excel
Clear understanding of accounting and valuation concepts
Additional language skills, an advantage
Proficiency with VBA or Python would be an additional advantage
