Job Summary:

The Collections Team Lead is responsible for managing and overseeing the collections team to ensure timely and effective collection of outstanding debts. This role involves leading a team of collectors, setting performance goals, monitoring team progress, and optimizing collection strategies to maximize recoveries.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee a team of collections representatives, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback. Set team and individual collections targets and monitor progress towards goals. Develop and implement effective collections strategies and processes to improve recovery rates. Analyze collections data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Collaborate with other departments, such as accounting and sales, to coordinate collection efforts. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to collections. Train and develop team members to enhance their collection skills and knowledge. Escalate complex or high-value cases to senior management as needed. Prepare collections reports and presentations for management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. Minimum 6 years of experience in a collections or credit management role, with at least 2 years of team leadership experience. Fluency in English is a must. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills. Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret and leverage collections data. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the collections industry. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong leadership and team-building abilities. Certification in collections or credit management.
