Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven and experienced
Collection Officer
to manage and streamline the collection of outstanding payments from clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in collections within a
real estate development company or banking sector and
will be responsible for maintaining healthy cash flow through timely collection efforts while ensuring compliance with company policies and customer agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage the collection of outstanding payments from clients, ensuring targets and deadlines are consistently met.
Liaise with customers professionally to negotiate payment terms and resolve billing issues or disputes.
Prepare and issue regular collection statements, payment reminders, and follow-up correspondence.
Maintain detailed records of interactions, payment commitments, and account statuses.
Coordinate with the finance and legal teams to escalate unresolved or delinquent accounts.
Review sales and contract documentation to ensure proper understanding of payment terms and project-specific conditions.
Generate and present aging reports, collection forecasts, and account status updates to management.
Conduct field visits when necessary to follow up on overdue accounts.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal regulations, and relevant financial guidelines.
Recommend and assist in implementing credit control improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in collections, preferably within the
real estate development sector
or
banking industry
.
Strong knowledge of collection strategies, customer handling, and credit control processes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive financial matters with discretion and professionalism.
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with ERP or CRM systems is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position based on-site.
