As a Coffee Trainer, you will be responsible for developing training programs, onboarding new baristas, and elevating the skills of existing team members. Your goal is to ensure consistency, quality, and excellence in every cup served across our locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Development
Deliver structured coffee training programs (theory and practical) for new and existing staff.
Provide hands-on training on espresso preparation, milk texturing, latte art, brew methods, and equipment handling.
Conduct regular skill assessments and performance evaluations.
Stay current with specialty coffee trends and share knowledge with the team.
Quality Assurance
Monitor coffee quality and consistency across all locations.
Calibrate espresso machines and grinders daily/weekly.
Troubleshoot issues with brewing equipment and ensure maintenance schedules are followed.
Program Design & Materials
Develop training manuals, SOPs, and resources.
Create barista certification programs and skills development paths.
Support & Coaching
Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to baristas and team leads.
Assist with opening new locations, including initial barista training and setup.
Conduct refresher training sessions and support new product launches.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a barista or head barista (2+ years).
Prior experience in training or mentoring roles is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of coffee theory, brewing techniques, and coffee equipment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Passion for coffee and continuous learning.
SCA certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Ability to work flexible hours and travel to different store locations if needed.
