Position Summary:
The Cluster Director of Sales is a strategic leader responsible for driving market share and total revenue for multiple properties within a designated cluster. This role involves developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, leading a dynamic sales team across different locations, and forging strong relationships with key accounts and clients. The incumbent will be the driving force behind achieving and exceeding room revenue, banquet revenue, and overall property occupancy goals, ensuring a cohesive and powerful sales presence in the market.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning:
  • Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the annual sales and marketing plan and budget for the cluster.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis, monitor competitor strategies, and identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Set aggressive yet achievable sales targets for each property and market segment.
  • Present monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and reports to ownership and senior management.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales teams across all clustered properties, including Sales Managers and Coordinators.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set individual goals, and create development plans for team members.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration within the cluster sales team.
  • Sales Activity & Revenue Management:
  • Direct the efforts of the sales team in key segments including Corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions), Leisure, and Long-Term Stays.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Management team to develop pricing strategies, manage inventory, and ensure rate integrity across the cluster.
  • Personally maintain and nurture relationships with top-producing accounts and key corporate clients.
  • Marketing & Promotion:
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure alignment between sales strategies and marketing campaigns, branding, and digital presence.
  • Represent the cluster properties at trade shows, industry events, and sales missions.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
  • Work seamlessly with the Cluster General Manager, Front Office, and Food & Beverage departments to ensure the sales strategy is operationalized effectively and guest expectations are met or exceeded.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive sales experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within a multi-property or cluster environment.
  • Proven track record of developing successful sales strategies and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in hotel operating systems (e.g., Opera) and CRM software.
