Role overview:
This role involves planning, developing, and implementing nutritional and dietary care programs for patients/individuals in accordance with M42 and relevant national health regulatory policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards. The incumbent is also responsible for offering nutritional and diet-related counselling and advice to patients and their families to enhance their nutritional status, health, and well-being.
Responsibilities
  • Adheres to division policies, procedures, and standards while ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory, accreditation, and certification bodies.
  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conducts ongoing risk assessments and adheres to safety measures during therapy sessions.
  • Participates in meetings while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with the organizations code of conduct.
  • Proactively identifies and manages risks, capitalizing on potential opportunities for improvement.
  • Acts as a liaison and resource for staff regarding nutrition management and care.
  • Involves in nutrition screening, referral, and management training for new staff during orientation.
  • Conducts initial nutrition assessments and recommends evidence-based interventions for preventing and managing nutrition-related diseases and malnutrition.
  • Ensures continuity of care for patients with active nutrition issues.
  • Facilitates referrals for patients with complex nutrition-related concerns to more experienced Dietitians or external Dietetic Departments and supports medical staff in follow-up activities. Additionally, maintains accurate records of all patient-related information and participates in external events to raise awareness of nutrition and health issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Post-graduate or Master in Dietetics.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience; preferably in Physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, with a focus on continuous professional development.
