The Cleaner cum Helper supports the daily operations of the car care garage by maintaining cleanliness in the workshop, assisting technicians with vehicle cleaning and detailing, and helping in basic service activities. The role ensures a clean, safe, and organized workspace while contributing to efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vehicle Cleaning & Assistance
Wash and clean vehicle exteriors using appropriate materials and equipment.
Vacuum and clean interiors including seats, dashboard, carpets, and windows.
Assist technicians in detailing, polishing, and applying protective coatings.
Help move vehicles safely within the workshop or parking area.
Wipe, dry, and inspect finished vehicles before delivery to ensure quality standards.
2. Workshop Cleaning & Maintenance
Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of the workshop, wash bays, and surrounding areas.
Collect and dispose of waste properly, keeping all workstations tidy.
Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and cleaning materials after use.
Support in organizing supplies, tools, and consumables.
3. Operational Support
Assist mechanics, painters, or technicians as directed during repair or detailing work.
Prepare materials or tools needed for car care services.
Follow instructions from supervisors and support overall workflow in the garage.
Report any damaged equipment, safety hazards, or incidents immediately.
4. Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE (gloves, masks, uniforms, etc.).
Handle cleaning chemicals safely and as instructed.
Ensure that vehicles and tools are treated with care and respect.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
1-2 years of experience as a cleaner or helper in a car care garage, service centre, or car wash.
Experience in basic car cleaning or detailing is an advantage.
Skills & Attributes:
Hardworking, disciplined, and physically fit.
Basic knowledge of cleaning and car care materials.
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
Punctual, honest, and team-oriented attitude.
Willingness to learn new tasks and assist in multiple areas.
