A Civil/Structural Inspector is responsible for ensuring construction and maintenance projects adhere to engineering specifications, building codes, and safety standards. This involves inspecting the quality of materials and workmanship, monitoring construction progress, and documenting findings to maintain project integrity and safety.

Responsibilities

Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site. Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send non-conformances reports. Checks the preparation of foundations. Checks the correct preparation of reinforcements. Checks the certifications regarding element mixes. Monitors atmospheric conditions during pouring operations. Monitors correct curing operations. Checks the sampling operations (when required). Reviews the laboratory examination results. Checks sub-grade dry density. Checks moisture content. Checks compression strength test. Checks after concrete puring. Checks materials quality (wire, fitting etc.). Check the conformity with the Quality Control Plan and obtain the relevant documentation. Check the documents certifying the tests, controls and inspections carried out. Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan according to Clients requirements.

External Communications:

Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice.

Construction Management:

Supervise others on a construction project, working within established operational systems.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.

Work Scheduling and Allocation:

Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.

Leadership and Direction:

Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.

Performance Management:

Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.

Organizational Capability Building:

Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.

Quality Assurance:

Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives and monitor them to make sure they are effective.

Operational Compliance:

Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.

Client & Customer Management (External):

Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
