You will be responsible for overseeing and executing engineering projects related to building maintenance, from assessments to design, budgeting, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
:
Building Assessments
: Conduct thorough inspections and evaluations of buildings to identify structural, architectural, and systems issues that require maintenance or repair.
Project Management
: Lead and manage building maintenance projects, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and according to safety standards.
Design & Planning
: Develop designs and plans for structural repairs, renovations, and new installations, ensuring compliance with all building codes, regulations, and company standards.
Collaboration
: Work closely with building managers, contractors, and maintenance teams to deliver maintenance solutions that are both cost-effective and efficient.
Problem Solving
: Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues related to building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
Budget Management
: Prepare cost estimates, manage project budgets, and ensure proper allocation of resources for maintenance and repair activities.
Sustainability
: Advise on and implement sustainable building practices, including energy-efficient systems, waste reduction, and eco-friendly materials.
Compliance & Safety
: Ensure that all engineering work adheres to local, state, and federal regulations and follows industry best practices for safety and quality control.
Documentation
: Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, work orders, and progress updates for all maintenance projects.
Qualifications
:
Education
: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Architecture. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP) is a plus.
Experience
: At least [2] years of experience in civil or architectural engineering, with a focus on building maintenance, structural repairs, or renovation projects.
Technical Skills
: Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge
: Strong understanding of building codes, zoning laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
Communication
: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and contractors.
Problem-Solving
: Ability to assess complex issues and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Attention to Detail
: High level of precision and attention to detail, especially when working with complex building systems and structures.
License
: A Professional Engineer (PE) license or Architectural License is preferred.
