Civil Site Engineer
Job Title: Civil Site Engineer
Location: Dubai, UAE
Reporting To: Senior Site Engineer / Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To oversee and direct the day-to-day construction activities on-site. The Civil Site Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the work is carried out according to the approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. They act as the technical advisor for the construction team.
Key Responsibilities:

• Site Supervision: Supervise and monitor the work of foremen, contractors, and laborers to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Setting Out: Perform site layout, survey, and set-out activities using surveying equipment (Total Station, GPS, Theodolite, Levels) to establish reference points and markers for construction.
• Quality Control: Inspect workmanship and materials to ensure they meet project quality standards. Conduct tests on materials (concrete slump tests, cube tests, etc.) and prepare reports.
• Technical Guidance: Resolve technical issues that arise on-site by consulting drawings and liaising with the design team. Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) when clarifications are needed.
• Progress Reporting: Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, including manpower, equipment, and material usage.
• Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, structural, architectural) to ensure seamless integration of work.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Enforce strict adherence to company and Dubai Civil Defence HSE policies on-site.
• Quantity Measurement: Assist the Quantity Surveyor with site measurements for interim payments and variations.
• Approvals: Liaise with consultants and client representatives for site inspections and approvals of completed work stages.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in building construction or infrastructure projects, with proven site engineering experience in the UAE. Experience with a Dubai Municipality-approved engineering consultancy is a major advantage.
• Licensing/Certification: UAE Driver's License is mandatory. Engineer membership with the Society of Engineers - UAE is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in surveying and setting out techniques.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, concrete technology, and soil mechanics.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and architectural plans.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6 is a plus).
• Personal Skills: Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, fluency in English (knowledge of Arabic/Hindi/Urdu is beneficial).
