Civil engineers are involved with the supervision, design, development, oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure and construction of a huge range of projects in the built and natural environment. Their role is central to ensuring the safe, timely and well-resourced completion of projects in many areas.
Responsibilities:
Review the Construction Management Plan, Site Specific Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
Coordinate & Supervise the work of contractors.
Review the QA/QC Plan including development of the inspection & test plan.
Supervise setup and accreditation of the onsite materials testing laboratory.
Attend inspects the construction site weekly with the contractor's representative.
coordinate with the structural engineer in the design development and resolve problems reported by the Contractors
Provides technical advice and guidance on all discipline aspects.
Review Tender Documents (drawings, specifications, Soil Report..Etc) and coordinates with the works of other disciplines.
Review the Transmittals, technical shop drawings and construction materials and/or equipment submittals.
Provide technical assistance for inspectors & contractor and Performs field inspections and provides professional field support during construction phases.
Review Shop Drawings, Product Data, Samples, Certification & other submittals for compliance with Contract Documents
Study the Requests for Information (RFI) submitted by the Contractor and do the required coordination with the design office for the proper technical reply
Cooperate with the design department as necessary to reply the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents with design concepts.
Lead effort of work coordination on site, and supervising the construction of mock-ups for review by the appropriate end users.
Attend meetings between the contractor and concerned departments/end users to resolve interfacing problems during construction.
Initiate and prepare draft technical civil related letters or reports to contractors and other departments.
Provide General direction to Contractor, at the construction site of the project, through technical reference
Oversee the work of junior staff and site inspectors
Communicate and liaise effectively with architects, contractors, subcontractors and clients
Working in Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Review the status of the project site consistently during the excavation and construction of the all aboveground & underground structures, utilities and maintain a stability of the existing structures.
Ensure the working procedure to comply with the relevant statutory /authority requirement, agreed method & recommend modification to the process
Ensure quality assurance system implemented & maintained.
Evaluating work throughout construction & providing technical advice to the Project.
Attend the Testing & commission, Handing over & Closeout Documents.
Review design for construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models.
Prepares engineering comments / recommendations in design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.
Undertake adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress; inspecting construction site & required coordination with the design office.
Maintains operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures.
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
Qualifications:
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes
The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.
Very familiar with the value engineering applications and current applicable codes.
Requires the ability to work as a team, and be deferential to the aesthetic tastes

Complete knowledge of relevant legislation.
