Position Overview
AECOM is seeking a skilled Civil Process Engineer to join its Dubai-based engineering team, supporting the design and delivery of wastewater treatment plant projects across the UAE and wider region. This role focuses on process design, hydraulic analysis, modelling, and technical coordination to deliver efficient, compliant, and sustainable wastewater treatment solutions aligned with regional and international standards.

Key Responsibilities
Design and Engineering

• Develop conceptual layouts, treatment process schemes, and detailed designs for wastewater treatment plants
• Perform process design calculations for physical, chemical, and biological treatment systems
• Design sludge treatment systems including thickening, digestion, dewatering, and odour control
• Develop and validate wastewater treatment process models using BioWin or equivalent software
• Perform hydraulic calculations including pump sizing and yard piping hydraulics
• Prepare basis of design documents, technical reports, and construction specifications
• Carry out hazardous area classification for electrical and mechanical equipment
• Participate in HAZOP and CHAZOP studies to identify and mitigate process and control risks

Site and Construction Support

• Observe and document site conditions during construction and commissioning phases
• Prepare site observation reports and photographic logs as required

Vendor and Equipment Coordination

• Liaise with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to support equipment selection and technical compliance

Project Management Support

• Support team leaders in preparing proposals, scopes of work, project plans, budgets, schedules, and safe work plans
• Participate in client meetings, technical reviews, and progress reporting activities

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering
• Minimum six years of experience in wastewater treatment process engineering
• Strong expertise in BioWin or similar process modelling tools
• Solid understanding of biological treatment technologies, pumping systems, and hydraulic design
• Experience with sludge treatment and odour control systems
• Familiarity with Middle East or GCC standards and wastewater reuse regulations preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to work in multidisciplinary and client-facing environments
