Civil Inspector - Infrastructure and Structural Works - AECOM Middle East - Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
AECOM Middle East is hiring an experienced Civil Inspector to join its infrastructure supervision team in Dubai. The role involves overseeing and ensuring quality control and compliance of civil and structural works across roads, bridges, utilities, and villa infrastructure projects. The selected candidate will perform technical inspections, monitor site progress, and support quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of structural and civil works including roads, utilities, and infrastructure components
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation for compliance
• Verify materials, workmanship, and construction activities align with approved design and international standards
• Identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and project teams
• Maintain detailed inspection records, test reports, and documentation logs
• Monitor and ensure adherence to safety regulations and report on-site hazards or violations
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to resolve technical issues promptly
• Prepare daily progress and inspection reports for submission to the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
• Support quality assurance programs and implement project-specific QA/QC procedures
• Conduct field measurements and assist in verifying alignments, levels, and survey benchmarks
• Participate in commissioning and handover inspections, ensuring all project milestones are properly documented
• Follow up on site instructions, material delivery, and work completion schedules
• Assist the engineering team in correspondence and compliance with contract requirements

Ideal Profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 7 years of experience in civil infrastructure inspection including roads, bridges, and utilities
• Strong understanding of structural and civil construction materials, QA/QC processes, and testing procedures
• Previous experience in private developer villa projects preferred
• Familiarity with standards such as AASHTO, ASTM, BS, and UAE municipal codes
• Skilled in using surveying equipment, inspection tools, and report preparation software
• Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently under supervision while maintaining high technical and safety standards
