Civil Inspector - AECOM - Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
This Civil Inspector role with AECOM Dubai supports major roads and infrastructure projects by ensuring strict compliance with project specifications, authority regulations, health and safety requirements, and quality control standards. The position involves daily supervision, contractor coordination, documentation management, and assisting the Resident Engineer team throughout project execution and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and HSE requirements
  • Ensure contractor compliance with approved plans and project standards
  • Maintain daily records of manpower, equipment, and site activities
  • Conduct supervision and inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
  • Follow up with contractors to ensure proper resource management and safety practices
  • Prepare daily reports including work orders, material deliveries, and inspection results
  • Implement site quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Carry out site measurements and surveying checks for levels, alignments, and elevations
  • Coordinate with client project managers during inspections
  • Monitor QA/QC activities and maintain updated documentation
  • Assist in preparing correspondence, reports, and technical documentation
  • Identify site issues and support prompt resolution
  • Monitor commissioning and handover stages, maintaining milestone logs
  • Maintain records of material tests and completed works
  • Conduct audit inspections for conformity with contract requirements
  • Issue NCRs and SORs and ensure corrective actions by contractors
  • Review RFIs and technical submittals and provide recommendations
  • Monitor contractor progress and highlight delays or potential slippage
  • Ensure compliance with local authority guidelines including RTA, DM, and DEWA
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure proper integration of civil works
  • Enforce HSE requirements and report violations immediately
  • Participate in site meetings and technical discussions
  • Conduct final inspections and punch list verification before handover
Ideal Profile
  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • 7-10 years of experience in roads and infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of UAE construction standards, specifications, and regulations
  • Proven experience in site supervision, QA/QC, and utilities-related civil works
  • Familiarity with construction methodologies and project documentation
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • UAE project experience is mandatory
