Position Overview
This Civil Inspector role with AECOM Dubai supports major road and infrastructure projects by ensuring contractor compliance with specifications, authority regulations, and safety standards. The position requires strong site supervision capabilities, detailed documentation, and daily coordination with contractors and the Resident Engineer team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret contract documents, specifications, drawings, and HSE requirements
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved standards and procedures
  • Inspect contractor and subcontractor works for safety, quality, and workmanship
  • Verify equipment alignment, testing requirements, and energization processes
  • Maintain accurate records of daily manpower, equipment, and site activities
  • Conduct inspections and site supervision as directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
  • Liaise with contractors daily regarding resource management, safety, and equipment needs
  • Prepare detailed daily reports covering work orders, material deliveries, and inspections
  • Follow up on site instructions issued by the RE or ARE
  • Implement site quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Perform site measurements and surveying checks for pipe alignments and levels
  • Support client inspections with RE or ARE present
  • Prepare correspondence and documentation in compliance with contract requirements
  • Identify and resolve site problems in collaboration with RE or ARE
  • Monitor commissioning, testing, and handover activities and maintain milestone logs
  • Maintain records of material tests and executed works
  • Conduct audit inspections to ensure conformity to approved plans and contract documents
Ideal Profile
  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in road and infrastructure works, including 3 years in the UAE
  • Strong knowledge of UAE construction practices, codes, and specifications
  • Skilled in site inspections, QA/QC, and surveying checks
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office and project coordination tools
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment
