Position Overview
This Civil Inspector role with AECOM Dubai supports major roads and infrastructure works by ensuring full compliance with contract specifications, UAE construction standards, and safety requirements. The role involves daily inspections, contractor coordination, documentation management, and supporting the Resident Engineer team throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor construction activities and verify compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and contract documents
  • Inspect contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure safe and workmanlike execution
  • Verify equipment settings, alignment, testing, and energization procedures
  • Review drawings, specifications, and safety measures relevant to daily operations
  • Ensure contractor adherence to project standards and performance requirements
  • Maintain records of daily manpower, equipment usage, and site progress
  • Conduct site inspections and supervision as directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure proper resource allocation, safety practices, and equipment management
  • Prepare daily reports covering work orders, material deliveries, and inspection schedules
  • Implement site quality control and quality assurance processes
  • Assist with site measurements and surveying checks for pipe levels and alignments
  • Support client inspections and coordinate with project managers under RE or ARE supervision
  • Assist in preparing correspondence related to contract compliance and site requirements
  • Identify site issues and support prompt resolution
  • Monitor commissioning and handover activities and maintain milestone records
  • Maintain documentation of material tests and executed works
  • Conduct audit inspections to ensure conformity with contractor plans and standards
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure and road construction, with at least 3 years in the UAE
  • Strong understanding of UAE construction practices, regulations, and project specifications
  • Skilled in site inspections, QA/QC procedures, and surveying checks
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office and project coordination tools
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
