Job Description

Design and Planning:

Developing detailed designs and plans for construction projects, including roads, bridges, buildings, and water supply systems. Ensuring designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Construction Management:

Overseeing construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Monitoring progress and quality of work, resolving issues that may arise during construction.

Site Inspection and Evaluation:

Conducting site visits to evaluate construction progress and adherence to design specifications. Inspecting completed infrastructure to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.

Project Coordination:

Coordinating with architects, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project. Managing project schedules, resources, and budgets effectively.

Documentation and Reporting:

Preparing technical reports, proposals, and documentation related to project specifications and progress. Maintaining accurate records of project activities, expenditures, and materials used.

Client Relations:

Interacting with clients to understand their requirements and address any concerns or issues. Providing technical expertise and recommendations to clients regarding project feasibility and implementation.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Professional License:

In many jurisdictions, licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required to oversee projects and sign off on designs.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D), knowledge of design standards and codes (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE), and understanding of construction processes.

Communication Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders.

Problem-Solving Ability:

Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

Project Management:

Experience in project management principles and practices to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
