Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our engineering team. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water supply systems, and buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for sustainable development and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Design and Planning:

Design, develop, and oversee the construction of civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and drainage systems. Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Conduct site assessments and surveys to collect necessary data for design and planning.

Project Management:

Coordinate and manage construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets, ensuring that all project milestones are met. Oversee the selection and management of materials, equipment, and contractors to ensure efficient project execution.

Technical Support and Problem-Solving:

Provide technical expertise and support to resolve engineering issues during the design and construction phases. Analyze complex engineering problems and develop practical solutions to ensure project success. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure design integration.

Quality Control and Compliance:

Ensure all engineering designs and construction activities comply with safety standards, regulations, and environmental requirements. Monitor and inspect construction sites to ensure that work meets specified quality standards and technical requirements. Conduct tests and surveys to ensure the stability, functionality, and durability of structures and materials.

Cost Management:

Prepare cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including labor, materials, and equipment. Monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle and ensure that costs are controlled and minimized. Assist in the procurement process, including reviewing bids and selecting suppliers.

Environmental Sustainability:

Integrate sustainable design practices in civil engineering projects, ensuring minimal environmental impact. Assess the environmental impact of proposed projects and make recommendations to reduce negative effects.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare detailed reports, proposals, and project documentation, including design plans, permits, and compliance records. Maintain accurate records of project progress, budgets, and construction activities. Provide regular updates and status reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:

Coordinate with project teams, government agencies, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and collaboration throughout the project. Attend meetings and site visits to discuss project progress and resolve issues.

Required Qualifications:

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Experience

: 2+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on design, construction, and project management.

Skills

: Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design tools. Strong knowledge of construction methods, building materials, and project management principles. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of relevant engineering codes, regulations, and standards. Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.

Certifications

: Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Experience with specialized civil engineering areas (e.g., transportation, structural, water resources). Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Experience working with government agencies and understanding public sector processes.
