The preparation of design reports, technical calculations note, specifications, organization and submission of drawings, reports,
Studying and conducting hydrology analysis, hydraulics calculation and drainage design from concept to detailed design stages.
Proficient and skilled in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices in the relevant field of hydrology and hydraulics,
Prepare engineering sketches for draftsman/draftswoman to produce drawings,
Review of the design, mark-up drawings ensuring the quality control requirements, including QA/QC checklists procedures for drafting production checklists,
To be motivated and be able to execute project tasks within budget and schedule and work collaboratively with other project multidisciplinary staffs,
Working under the mentoring of experienced senior engineers and discipline manager /project managers and look for support and assistance when required.
PROFILE:
Bachelor or Master or PhD in Civil/hydrology/hydraulics Engineering or similar engineer diploma is required for the applicant
10 - 15 years related work experience and at least 3 years in railway projects
Technical proficiency in the field of railway drainage design, hydraulics and hydrology analysis, erosion and sediment control/scour protection design, flooding assessment/ flood plain maps definition, and stream restoration projects, watercourse diversions ponds design
Hydrology analysis /catchment delineation/ streamlines definition using the Arc GIS software tools
Hydrology analysis on HEC HMS software and hydrograph and peak flow estimation
Culverts design using the FHWA HY8 software, the hydraulic modeling on HEC RAS will be preferred
River/Wadi bridge hydraulic modeling on HEC RAS software and scour depth definition at pier and abutments, and Dam break analysis on HEC RAS software.
Operating drainage design software (example SWMM or similar software) and preparation of spreadsheets for calculation of longitudinal drainage, dissipators, diffusion ditch , etc.
Knowledge/awareness of international design standards and code of practices such as AASHTO, AREMA, BS EN 752, US SCS NRCS-NEH Part 630, HEC 14, HEC 18, HEC 23, HEV 22, FHWA HD2 and HD5, NCHRP -Report 587/ and report 593 .
Good supervision and management skills
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
