Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Summary

We are hiring Civil Engineers in Qatar who would be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and compliant execution in accordance with local standards (Qatar Construction Specifications, QCS), regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Design & Planning

Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and calculations for infrastructure and building projects.

Use software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, ETABS or similar for technical modeling and design.

Coordinate design inputs with architects, MEP engineers, and other technical teams.

Project Management

Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and coordinate with contractors and subcontractors.

Track project milestones, deliverables, and cost estimates.

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Site Supervision & Construction Oversight

Supervise construction activities, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards.

Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor work quality and progress.

Identify and resolve technical issues or site constraints.

Quality Assurance & Control

Implement quality control procedures, review material submittals, and approve tests.

Ensure construction meets local standards, QCS, and best engineering practices.

Prepare quality documentation and reports.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies (especially important under Qatar's strict HSE regulations).

Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks to reinforce safety culture.

Report and follow up on safety incidents.

Coordination & Communication

Liaise with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, site staff, and discipline teams.

Prepare progress reports and present updates to management or clients.

Procurement & Budget Support

Assist in procurement: reviewing bids, recommending vendors, evaluating materials and equipment.

Assist with cost estimation, budgeting, and cost-control activities.

Required Skills & Competencies

? Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, methods, and practices

? Proficiency in design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)

? Understanding of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local codes

? Excellent site supervision and construction management skills

? Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

? Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

? Effective communication and team coordination

? Familiarity with HSE regulations and enforcement

Qualifications & Experience

? Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

? Professional Engineer license (PE) or chartered status preferred

? Minimum 3-8+ years experience in construction or infrastructure projects

? Experience in Middle East / Gulf projects is often preferred

? Familiarity with local contracts (FIDIC), compliance, and permitting processes
