Key Responsibilities

1. Drafting and Design:

Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and blueprints using computer-aided design (CAD) software, primarily

AutoCAD

Civil 3D

is a significant advantage. Prepare architectural and structural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings for foundations, concrete structures, and steelwork. Develop detailed drawings for infrastructure projects, such as road alignments, grading plans, drainage systems, water and sewage networks, and utility layouts. Ensure all drawings are accurate, clear, and complete, incorporating all necessary dimensions, materials, and procedures.

2. Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with Civil Engineers, Architects, and Project Managers to understand project requirements and design concepts. Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, Structural) to integrate their requirements into the civil drawings and resolve clashes. Revise and update drawings based on mark-ups and feedback from engineers and site teams.

3. Compliance and Standards:

Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, project specifications, and relevant

UAE authorities' regulations

(e.g., Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Trakhees, Civil Defense). Stay updated with the latest UAE codes and standards, such as the

Dubai Green Building Regulations

, and incorporate them into designs.

4. Documentation and Management:

Maintain an organized filing system for all drawings, documents, and revisions. Prepare drawing submittals for client and authority approvals. Assist in the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and material schedules when required.

5. Site Support:

Occasionally visit project sites to conduct measurements, verify existing conditions, and assist in resolving any design-related issues that arise during construction.
