About the job Civil Design Engineer

Our client is a versatile integrated construction group that specializes in investment and financing, planning design, engineering construction, equipment manufacturing, and operation management. They are dedicated to projects related to clean and low-carbon energy, water resources, environmental construction, and infrastructure development. They are hiring for a Civil Engineer for a renewable energy project in Dubai.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for civil engineering aspects of solar PV, wind, and combined renewable projects.
• Prepare technical requirements for surveys and evaluate service provider offers.
• Contribute to project layout development, including road and drainage systems.
• Develop civil FEED design, technical specifications, and drawings for bidding purposes.
• Review proposals from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring technical compliance.
• Generate bill of quantity (BOQ) for civil works, coordinate with external technical services when needed.
• Conduct tech-economy comparisons for decision-making in civil engineering design.
• Estimate costs based on project requirements and applicable inputs.
• Integrate technical proposals and solutions for civil engineering design.
• Communicate technically with tenderers, clients, and partners, addressing pre/post-offer clarifications and participating in meetings.
• Conduct site visits, prepare investigation reports.
• Participate in subcontractor/vendor/consultancy selection processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree or above in civil engineering.
• Experience in civil design for solar PV, wind power, transmission lines, and substations.
• Over five years of experience in civil structure engineering, with priority given to road and drainage system design knowledge.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (UBC, IBC, ASCE, EN/ISO, ASTM, ACI).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Staad Pro, Tkela, Sketchup, or similar civil engineering software.

Location: Dubai, UAE, with travel to other countries/regions.
