Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Doctor
Core Duties:
Diagnose patients using TCM methods like:
Pulse diagnosis
Tongue observation
Listening/smelling
Asking detailed health/lifestyle questions
Prescribe herbal medicine tailored to the individual's body and condition
Perform treatments such as:
Acupuncture
Moxibustion
Cupping
Tui Na (therapeutic massage)
Provide lifestyle and dietary advice based on TCM principles (e.g., balance of yin and yang, five elements)
Track patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly
Responsibilities:
Maintain knowledge of classical and modern TCM texts
Ensure accurate formulation and safe use of herbs
Educate patients on long-term self-care and prevention
Adhere to national health regulations and safety protocols
Keep up with medical research and training
Record and update patient medical records
Follow ethical and legal standards of practice
