Job Description
Our client a Government institution based in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Chief Technical Architect.
CTA leads the development of the technical architecture, technical design and technical implementation..
CTA develops the technical roadmap, improves its technical efficiency, and optimizes its business operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
✓ Defining Technical Architecture for our customer initiatives and lead its technical implementation.
✓ Developing the Solution architecture for our customer and proposing technical direction for different initiatives.
✓ Technical review of the vendors’ deliverables and solution architecture proposed by the vendors.
✓ Leading technical discussion with various technical stakeholders internally and externally to convey the technical implementation and design choice, guide integration and implementation of existing legacy systems, and realize opportunity in digital transformation.
✓ Working closely with Sr. Project/Product Manager on digitizing government services through the various programs and initiatives managed by them.
✓ Providing technical consultation in the projects from conceptualization, drafting RFP, evaluating vendor responses, contracting to delivery of the project.
✓ Reviewing and recommending the technical operation processes of the project to ensure that SLAs are met which includes incident management, release management, change management etc.
✓ Reviewing the technical design of Digital government initiatives, aligning the initiatives technically, and providing consultations based on best practices.
✓ Providing consultancy and support to business units in identifying and implementing technical capabilities that meet the business needs.
✓ Assessing the current technical applications within the Government and define integration process required to successfully build out the solution.
✓ Proposing architectural enhancements in order to realize security, agility, performance and cost effectiveness.
✓ Acting as the technical subject matter expert, thoroughly understanding technologies, features, functions.
✓ Provides advice, direction and thought leadership on a specific industry standards and technology architecture.
Qualifications:
✓ Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a similar discipline.
✓ Proven experience as Technical Architect or equivalent.
✓ Knowledge in software development lifecycle. Experience:
✓ Minimum 12 – 17 years of experience in a Technical Architecture role
✓ Good understanding of government projects/areas
✓ Large Exposure to IT (Digital) transformational exercises and mission critical initiatives.
Job Specific skills:
✓ Hands-on experience with software development and system administration
✓ Understanding of strategic IT solutions
✓ Experience in project management
✓ Experience in different architecture such as integration architecture, solution architecture and service-oriented architecture
✓ Knowledge of different programming languages
✓ Familiarity with various operating systems e.g. Windows, UNIX and databases e.g. MySQL)
✓ Experience in cloud technologies e.g. VMware ✓ Through understating of technical concepts, design and architecture
✓ Strong understating of government services development
✓ Extensive experience and exposure to different technologies with the ability to immerse oneself into new capabilities.
✓ Ability to continuously learn new concepts and proactively seek new innovative methods for value creation.
✓ Ability to deal with difficult situations and performs well under pressure.
