Responsibilities Related to Business and Strategy
Guide the Board and Senior Management in the execution of their risk management responsibilities
Provide a risk-focused viewpoint to strategic planning and other activities of the Board and Senior Management
Analyze and report on risk related trends that may impact the Bank's business
Notify the Board, and provide challenge on, any business strategy or plans that are outside the Bank's risk appetite Responsibilities Related to Risk Assessment, Management and Control
Review the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, policies, and procedures at least annually
Assess capacity and capability of the Bank's systems and controls
Provide guidance to improve systems, policies, processes and management tools as needed
Review and challenge new products from a risk perspective
Provide risk advice and information in relation to the Bank's Remuneration Policy
Ensure that the risk function is appropriately resourced Responsibilities Related to Risk Analysis
Develop and maintain the Risk register
Responsible for formulation/review, in consultation with the CEO, of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Statement, Credit Risk Policy, Operational Risk Policy, Model Risk Policy, and Cybersecurity Risk Policy.
Develop the ICAAP and ILAAP in consultation with the CEO and CFO
Leading the response on regulatory queries vis-a-vis the Risk Management Framework
Administration of RCSA as per Operational Risk Policy definition
Ensure that risk related models and methodologies are appropriate for bank's use and are reviewed and validated on a periodic basis
Capital and liquidity stress testing
Ensure that the data used by the Bank to assess its risks are fit for purpose
Reporting and Communication Responsibilities
Ensure accuracy and completeness of risk reports and their submission
Report to the Board Risk Committee on risk exposures relative to its risk appetite and ensure the adequacy of risk information, analysis and training provided to members of the Board
Escalate where appropriate key risk concerns directly to the Chairman of the Board Risk Committee
Member of EXCO, ALCO, Chair of Credit Committee and Risk and Compliance Committee. Also, invitee to the Audit Risk and Compliance Committee, and Board Credit Committee.
Prepare, review and put up to EXCO and Risk Committees all MI pertaining to Risk Rating Dashboard
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Financial Services/Banking experience
15+ years of experience in Corporate Credit Risk
Supply Chain Finance is a plus
Interested in FinTech (experience in the sector is a plus)
Proven experience in risk management and leading risk functions within a banking environment.
Strong awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and regulatory environment in Banking and Payments
Technical knowledge and management skills
Ability to work effectively at an executive level and create strong credibility and confidence with the Board and wider team
Experience in the development and maintenance of risk management frameworks and standards.
Extensive knowledge of risk systems and controls that can deliver a robust level of monitoring and oversight to ensure the firm remains within its risk appetite.
Working knowledge of credit portfolio management and credit modelling with proven contribution to product and commercial business executives to ensure risk appetites are aligned to commercial outcomes.
Working knowledge and proven contribution to the ICAAP and ILAAP along with proven contributions to assist CFOs mitigate capital and liquidity risks.
Working knowledge of Cyber and other technology risks with proven contributions to help CTOs mitigate them
