Job Description

Our client, a well reputed bank, is looking to hire a COO to join the team in Abu Dhabi.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Provide direction to the IT, Central Operations and Trade Finance Departments in terms of strategy and managerial matters.
  • Enhance operations centralisation in order to save costs and avoid duplication in different functional areas.
  • Develop marketing and promotions strategy to ensure the right marketing mix is in place, the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s image among target customer segments is enhanced, in order to achieve the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s business goals cost-effectively.
  • Keep abreast of external business environment to identify business opportunities and select suitable products and services. Review the Bank\'s product performance portfolio and advise the management appropriately.
  • Provide strategic direction in selection, prioritization and execution of IT projects. Oversee major IT projects to ensure they are implemented on time and with operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure that the Bank gets best value from the investment in IT projects in terms of its cost effectiveness and enhancement of efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain and constantly upgrade processes aiming to attain efficiency and cost-effectiveness in service delivery, so as to minimize operational losses.
  • Provide direction to the Centralised Operations which is responsible for providing back office support to Structured Finance, Trade Finance, Escrow, Treasury, Inward/Outward remittances & Cards Services, and Retail Asset Services: ensure reconciliation.
  • Ensure implementation of optimum technologies efficiently and cost-effectively, to meet the changing demands of the end- and internal users.
  • Review the Banks product performance portfolio and advise management appropriately.
  • Work proactively with Department Heads to develop cost effective solutions to various issues; interact regularly with Treasury and Investments Department to provide inputs on preferred instruments for corporate business growth.
  • Develop the skills of and manage a team of relationship managers in order to generate budgeted net financial revenue by selling and cross-selling services to corporate clients.
