Job description We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Human Resource Officer(CHRO) to provide strategic leadership and direction to our human resources function at the group level. As the CHRO, you will play a critical role in shaping our organization\'s human capital strategy and ensuring alignment with our overall business objectives. Purpose of the Role: The CHRO is responsible for driving the development and execution of strategic HR initiatives, elevating the HR function\'s impact, and fostering a high-performance culture across the organization. You will oversee a comprehensive range of HR activities, including strategic HR planning, talent acquisition and management, performance management, employee development and training, compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR policies and procedures, HR analytics and reporting, change management, and HR compliance. The person in this position will be responsible for overseeing a portion of the HR department, working from the Al Handal Group headquarters located in Baghdad, Iraq. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization\'s growth and drive business performance.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of market trends, internal workforce dynamics, and industry best practices to inform HR strategy development.
  • Design and implement workforce planning initiatives to ensure the organization has the right talent to meet future business needs.
  • Lead the design and implementation of talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top-tier talent.
  • Establish robust recruitment processes, including candidate assessment and selection methods, to ensure the right fit for critical roles.
  • Implement talent management programs to identify high-potential employees, develop succession plans, and foster a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline.
  • Develop and implement performance management frameworks to drive employee growth, accountability, and engagement.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and goals aligned with the organization\'s objectives.
  • Design and oversee employee development and training programs that enhance skills, promote career progression and support succession planning.
  • Ensure the organization maintains competitive and fair compensation and benefits structures to attract, motivate, and retain high-performing employees.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking to assess market competitiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of performance-based incentive programs and recognition initiatives.
  • Promote positive employee relations by developing and implementing effective policies, procedures, and communication channels.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall organizational culture.
  • Establish HR analytics and reporting frameworks to measure key HR metrics, identify trends, and inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Implement effective HR policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate legal and compliance risks.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Master\'s degree in Human Resource Management or a Ph.D. in Psychology is required.
  • A minimum of 8 plus years of experience in a similar leadership role within a progressive MNC.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and manage complex HR initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of talent management, including recruitment, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional integrity, ethics, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are an advantage.
