Chief Assistant
to support our store manager and leadership team in the day-to-day operations of the supermarket.
Position Overview:
The Chief Assistant will play a key role in helping manage store operations, staff coordination, inventory control, and customer service. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, speaks multiple languages (a plus), and understands the cultural and culinary needs of our customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Store Manager with daily operations and staff supervision
Help coordinate employee schedules and ensure adequate shift coverage
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving products
Support merchandising and product display efforts
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with store policies and local regulations
Translate or communicate with suppliers and customers in relevant languages (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog - depending on the community)
Qualifications:
Previous experience in retail or supermarket operations preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and handle pressure in a busy environment
Fluent in English; knowledge of an Asian language is a strong asset
Basic computer skills (POS systems, inventory software, Microsoft Office)
Reliable, punctual, and a team player with a positive attitude
