Job Summary

The Senior Accountant / Chief Accountant - Payroll is responsible for end-to-end payroll management for construction projects, ensuring accurate and timely salary processing for staff and site workforce. The role includes compliance with UAE labor laws, WPS, payroll accounting, and coordination with HR and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage

end-to-end payroll processing

for staff and site employees. Ensure timely submission through

WPS (Wage Protection System)

. Process

overtime, leave, deductions, allowances, and end-of-service benefits

. Maintain accurate

payroll records and reconciliations

. Coordinate with

HR

for employee data, attendance, leave, and contract changes. Ensure compliance with

UAE Labour Law

, company policies, and statutory requirements. Prepare

payroll journals

and post entries to the general ledger. Reconcile

payroll control accounts

monthly. Manage

employee advances, loans, and recoveries

. Handle

final settlements

for resigned and terminated employees. Support

internal and external audits

related to payroll. Prepare

monthly payroll reports and MIS

for management. Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of payroll information. Assist in improving

payroll systems, controls, and procedures

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in

Accounting, Finance, or Commerce

. Professional certification (CA / ACCA / CMA / CPA) -

preferred

. Minimum

5 years of experience

in payroll accounting,

with construction company experience

. Strong knowledge of

WPS, UAE Labour Law, and payroll compliance

. Experience handling

large workforce payroll

(staff & labor). Hands-on experience with

ERP/payroll systems

and MS Excel.
