:

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of YAY Portal, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing accurate financial reports, and supporting management with financial insights for strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions. Maintain the general ledger and oversee month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with IFRS/local regulations. Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management. Ensure compliance with tax laws, VAT, Zakat, and other statutory filings. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management for business decisions. Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency. Train and mentor accounting staff to build team capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred). Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) strongly preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations. Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
