Chief Accountant Job Summary: The Chief Accountant is responsible for the integrity of all accounting information, leading the accounting team, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. This role requires a deep understanding of the cost structures and revenue recognition specific to signage manufacturing and installation. Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the entire daily operations of the accounting department.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for the signage business unit.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations for project-related accounts.
Develop and manage project-based accounting and cost control systems.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Manage compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Mentor and manage a team of accounting staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, within the signage, fabrication, or construction industry.
Expert knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project costing.
