We are looking for a highly experienced and driven Chief Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our restaurant business. The ideal candidate should have at least 7+ years of overall finance experience, with 3-4 years in the restaurant or F&B industry, and a proven track record in managing end-to-end finance functions. A solid background in online business finance management and experience in performance reporting of individual profit centres is essential. The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills and a hands-on approach to accounting, compliance, and business partnership.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Lead end-to-end accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end closing.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
VAT & Compliance
Oversee VAT filings and compliance in accordance with local tax regulations.
Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants for statutory audits, VAT reviews, and regulatory reporting.
Business Support & Strategic Partnership
Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
Manage financial performance reporting of individual restaurants, delivery channels, and online platforms as profit centres.
Analyse restaurant and online business profitability, margins, and cost drivers to support growth and efficiency.
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Cash & Working Capital Management
Monitor daily cash flows and banking operations.
Oversee petty cash, vendor payments, and credit management.
Internal Controls & Process Improvements
Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard assets.
Identify and drive process improvements across finance and operational workflows.
Team Supervision
Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff.
Ensure timely and accurate execution of all financial tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
:
CA Intermediate, or
M.Com with minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.
Experience
:
Minimum
7-10 years in accounting and finance
.
At least
3-4 years in the restaurant or F&B industry
is mandatory.
Solid experience in managing online business financials and reporting for multiple profit centres.
Hands-on experience in bookkeeping, reporting, and VAT compliance is essential.
Experience working closely with business owners or senior management to support growth.
Skills

Strong understanding of restaurant accounting, inventory costing, POS system integrations, and online revenue reconciliation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Tally , Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and Excel.
