Job Opportunity: Chief Accountant

Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for complete accounting cycle for assigned companies. (Revenue, Expense, Closing & Reporting)

- Finalizing Balance Sheet

- Contribute to the strategic direction of the business through monthly reviews and variance reporting and recommendation of improvement initiatives.

- Ensure that Audit reports / schedules for statutory and / or internal audits are provided to the auditors as and when required.

- Co-ordinate the preparation of the statutory financial statements.

- Contribute in the various initiatives of process development & mapping, system automations and policies drafting and implementation.

- Knowledge of ERP Financial Software is advantage.

Monthly Financials & Reporting:

- Review monthly financial statements, underlying schedules and other financial reports for Corporate services

- Coordinate with Corporate finance business partners and Corporate HQ teams for monthly closing of books, and analyse the numbers reported

- Pass reclassification entries for all shared services components to accurately capture costs in the desired P&L

- Raise invoices, following VAT guidelines, to the respective subsidiaries providing transparency of information relating to shared services consumed

- Prepare/Review reconciliation of shared services costs on a monthly basis

- Prepare/Review dashboards at a subsidiary level for all costs allocated through Shared services

- Analyze, interpret and communicate financial information and develop periodic management reports to reflect the shared services performance

- Manage, guide and mentor any team members reporting into him/ her, identify potential talent amongst team members and provide timely support to them for learning and professional development.

- Prepare full year reconciliations of costs allocated through shared services model

- Year-end Audit Support: Prepare and support the Finance teams, as necessary, with year-end audit requirements for shared services

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration

- Senior level professional position requiring technical knowledge and experience, independence in problem solving and decision making.

- Fluent in English and any other local language required.

- At least 5 years of experience working in Finance Leadership role.

- Strong knowledge of financial and commercial operating systems.

- Demonstrated experience and understanding of Accounting Principles and Controllership.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and drive change while working across all levels, functions, and regions.

- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to add value to operating teams.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to create and execute concrete action plans.

- Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skill.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure; accelerate pacing of actions; collaborate for a dynamic daily management system.

- Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.

- Experience working in a matrixed environment and a multi-cultural environment.

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the field of Finance and Accounting

Experience in Construction / Project Management industries will be preferred.
