Chief Accountant

Job Description

Job Purpose

The Chief Accountant oversees the financial accounting operations across all Aramed Group entities, including Centric and regional branches in the GCC. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, overseeing monthly and year-end closings, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and leading the accounting team. The Chief Accountant also plays a key role in financial reporting and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Team Leadership and Oversight

-Supervise and guide the accounting team including A/P, A/R, General Accountants, Branches Accountant, and KSA Accountant.

-Ensure proper distribution of responsibilities and monitor team performance to meet monthly reporting timelines.

-Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensure ledger integrity across all entities.

-Provide training and mentorship to develop the accounting team's technical knowledge and efficiency.

Financial Accounting and Closing

-Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of trial balances and financial reports.

-Review and approve reconciliations of key accounts including banks, intercompany, inventory, and accruals.

-Coordinate with external auditors during interim and annual audits, ensuring proper documentation and resolution of audit queries.

-Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies across all entities.

Reporting and Internal Controls

-Prepare and review monthly financial statements for management reporting and consolidation.

-Ensure proper implementation of internal controls across all finance processes.

-Assist the CFO in preparing reports for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

-Lead initiatives to improve accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in reporting and system usage (e.g., ERP).

Qualifications and Experience

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred).

-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

-Experience in multi-entity, multi-country accounting structures in the GCC region.

-Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.

-Proficient in ERP systems (preferably Odoo) and advanced Excel reporting tools.
