Job Description

A Chief Accountant oversees the financial operations of an organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial direction.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight

: Manage all financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.

Policy Development

: Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accuracy in financial reporting.

Financial Reporting

: Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Month-End and Year-End Closing

: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation and reconciliation.

Audit Coordination

: Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Cash Flow Management

: Monitor cash flow and financial performance metrics to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.

Team Leadership

: Supervise and guide the accounting staff, ensuring efficient operations and reliable financial data production

Qualifications

Education

: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are often preferred.

Experience

: Significant experience in accounting or finance roles, with a proven track record of leadership and management within an accounting department.

Skills

: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with various departments and external stakeholders
