, demonstrating a strong background in managing financial accounts, overseeing accounting staff, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. This role demands expertise in construction accounting practices, budgeting, cost control, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Manage the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Cost Control & Job Costing:
Implement and manage job costing processes to ensure project budgets are maintained, and profitability is tracked.
Collaborate with project managers to monitor construction project expenses, track cost overruns, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Perform cost analysis and report variances to senior management.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Ensure proper management of accounts payable and receivable processes, including reviewing vendor invoices, contract payments, and collections.
Review contracts and subcontractor payment applications to ensure compliance with terms.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Ensure adherence to local tax regulations, construction-specific accounting rules (e.g., percentage of completion method), and industry standards.
Manage audits and liaise with external auditors during the financial audit process.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of accountants and support staff, ensuring a high level of performance and accountability.
Train junior staff and provide ongoing support for career development within the finance department.
Reporting & Analysis:
Provide financial reports and analyses to senior management, including project performance, profitability, and financial risks.
Assist with financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
