Role Overview

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing all accounting and financial operations across the region. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies while providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the finance and accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare, review, and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and statutory regulations. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the region. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost control to optimize financial performance. Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits. Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions. Collaborate with regional management on investment, expansion, and cost optimization initiatives. Ensure tax compliance, filings, and efficient tax planning in the region.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred). Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA is mandatory. Minimum [3-5] years of progressive accounting/finance experience. Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, tax laws, and regional financial regulations. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/other) and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
