Job Description

Job Purpose The Arabic Chef is responsible for the daily operation in the assigned kitchen to meet the expected standards, fully in charge of the food production. Duties and Responsibilities \xef\x82\xa7 Ensures that standards are being met in the Production Areas. \xef\x82\xa7 Ensuring that each station is on time for each service period. \xef\x82\xa7 Ensure all food is prepared as per recipes. \xef\x82\xa7 Ensure standards are met for food quality and quantity. \xef\x82\xa7 Ensure that food is sent to the correct area on time. \xef\x82\xa7 Notify the Chef or Sous Chef of any problems or complaints as and when they arise \xe2\x80\x93 solve immediately if possible \xe2\x80\x93 be empowered. \xef\x82\xa7 Ensures that professional work procedures are in place. \xef\x82\xa7 Communicate any problems with outlets to the affected department head and the Sous chef for follow-up. \xef\x82\xa7 Checks inventories to see proper storage and rotation of stock. \xef\x82\xa7 Follows up to see proper completion of assigned levels on production charts. \xef\x82\xa7 Aids in the training of food production staff. \xef\x82\xa7 Checking that all food items for storage are covered with vita film, dated, labeled, and initialled by the person who made it or used it. \xef\x82\xa7 Checking the rotation of foods \xe2\x80\x93 old first, newest last. \xef\x82\xa7 Checking that after service, oven tops, work areas, and reach-in boxes are cleaned. \xef\x82\xa7 Any other requests made by the executive chef and other management, including stooping, bending, and lifting weights up to 30 pounds will be required. Chef De Party \xef\x82\xa7 Will sign acceptance of tools, uniforms, knives, etc., and will pay back to the company for any loss or damage of said equipment. \xef\x82\xa7 Participates and follows up on taste panels. \xef\x82\xa7 Ensuring that the appropriate cleaning charts are filled out properly on a daily basis. \xef\x82\xa7 Be aware of accident prevention and help enforce safe work conditions \xe2\x80\x93 zero accidents is our goal. \xef\x82\xa7 Follow all kitchen regulations as outlined and directed. \xef\x82\xa7 Ensure Staff are preparing food for quality, quantity, and adherence to menu cycle. \xef\x82\xa7 Controlling that the timecards are punched for meal periods and breaks. \xef\x82\xa7 Attends monthly kitchen meetings. \xef\x82\xa7 Provide outlet with a minimum of inventory stock and maintain wastage levels at a minimum. \xef\x82\xa7 Communicate with the steward supervisor for cleaning schedules. \xef\x82\xa7 Assure that high-cost items are used properly. \xef\x82\xa7 Check with the Banquet Chef about the coordination of production in a daily BEO Meeting. Key Interactions Executive Chef, Students, Accommodation Staff, Operations Team. Knowledge and Experience Essential: \xef\x82\xa7 Good level of English essential \xef\x82\xa7 Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) \xef\x82\xa7 Innovative \xef\x82\xa7 Pro-active and reliable \xef\x82\xa7 Able to work alone and within a team Desirable:
  • Previous experience working within a Kitchen or similar environment preferred.
