We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented
Chartered Accountant / Professional Accountant
to oversee financial operations, reconciliation, VAT compliance, and reporting for our trading firm in Dubai. The ideal candidate must be familiar with UAE VAT laws, IFRS standards, bank reconciliation, and inventory/trading-related accounting.
Maintain accurate day-to-day accounting records using software (Tally, Zoho, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.)
Manage AP/AR, general ledger, petty cash, and financial statements
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation
of:
Bank accounts
Supplier ledgers
Customer ledgers
Inventory and stock movement
Handle stock valuation, landed cost calculations, and trading cost allocations
Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and management reports
Reconciliation (Detailed Responsibilities)
Conduct
bank reconciliation
across multiple UAE banks
Reconcile supplier statements, invoices, LPOs, GRNs, and payments
Match customer invoices with deliveries, collections, and outstanding receivables
Perform
inventory reconciliation
between physical stock, WMS, and accounting system
Identify variances, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions
VAT & Compliance (UAE Specific)
Prepare and file UAE VAT returns as per FTA requirements
Ensure accurate VAT treatment for imports, exports, reverse charge, and zero-rated supplies
Maintain VAT audit file, tax invoices, and supporting documentation
Handle ESR (Economic Substance Regulations) and Corporate Tax initial compliance (if applicable)
Audit & Internal Controls
Prepare books and documentation for external audits
Assist with internal audits and implement control improvements
Ensure adherence to IFRS standards used in the UAE
Financial Analysis & Strategy
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund requirements
Provide insights for cost optimization and financial efficiency
Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, IFRS, and compliance procedures
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally ERP, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
Preferred Skills
Experience with import documentation (Bill of Entry, Customs, Duty, etc.)
Knowledge of Corporate Tax (UAE CT)
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment
Strong MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Data Analysis)
