Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and commercially-minded CFO to join a fast-growing startup in a dynamic, high-energy environment. This is a high-impact, future-oriented finance leadership role with a funding-driven mandate, reporting directly to the CEO as a trusted right-hand.
You will build the finance function from the ground up, leveraging automation and driving strategic FP&A initiatives. This role is focused on commercial financial leadership, not traditional accounting, financial control, or bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will have a strong investment and fundraising background, with experience in shaping and scaling finance teams in a start-up or high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership

• Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Provide actionable financial insights to the CEO and executive team to influence key strategic decisions.
• Manage cash flow, long-term financial planning, and policy guidance to support growth.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Controls

• Lead FP&A activities, delivering insights, scenario modeling, and strategic recommendations.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting to ensure financial health and profitability.
• Implement robust financial controls and optimize operational efficiency to improve margins.

Board, Shareholders, Fundraising & M&A

• Drive fundraising initiatives, including equity and debt financing, to support growth.
• Maintain strong relationships with investors, VCs, private equity firms, banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare detailed financial analysis, projections, and risk assessments for board review.
• Support M&A activities and due diligence processes as required.
• Present financial performance, strategy, and key initiatives to the Board and shareholders.

Commercial Financial Management

• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support revenue growth and optimize pricing models.
• Analyze customer and market trends to drive financial performance.
• Analyze margins and make optimization recommendations.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA qualification required; IFRS experience is essential.
• 5-10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in startups, high-growth SaaS, or tech/product companies.
• Proven track record in FP&A, commercial finance, fundraising, and strategic financial leadership.
• Experience building and scaling finance teams from scratch.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.
