Job Purpose Has wide responsibility across all aspects of finances, financial planning, and financial and administrative (including purchasing) processes. Co-ordination of all Treasury and tax activities for Novartis' operations in the Country. Possesses excellent business leadership and process management skills and the ability to develop and implement comprehensive financial, purchasing and control processes for a geographically and functionally-dispersed organization. Significant experience in financial administration and is well-versed in the relevant tax and regulatory processes in MTA Major Accountabilities . Manage financial planning, processes and relationships . Ensure availability of the finished goods and reduce exposures of stock-out situation and over stock . Provide proactive financial leadership for the Country by developing analytical and financial insight for all important long and short-term decisions, including resource allocation outcomes and processes, Country investments, and external business partnerships . Analyze MTA operating results and proactively identify areas of potential concern, initiating corrective action when necessary, and identify innovative ways to improve business volume and profit . Establish and manage MTA financial control processes, including quarterly and annual financial planning, goal setting, and target monitoring, as well as budgetary and purchasing controls . Drive MTA reporting activities, ensuring financial results' integrity, timely preparation and, when necessary, presentation to relevant Novartis stakeholders . Manage all Country and Novartis in-Country relations with external auditors and stakeholders, and prepare in-Country Novartis organizations for all relevant regulatory and tax audits by ensuring adherence to necessary financial, administrative and corporate compliance (i.e. SOx) standards . Ensure cost-efficient and effective Purchasing support across Country functions, and drive sourcing activities . Manage all personnel and capability activities for the Finance and Admin, ensuring effective personnel selection, development, retention and motivation, as well as overall group capability development . Key interfaces include: MTA Heads; Franchise Heads; P&O Head; functional Heads; Region Finance roles, Third Parties Partners . Key teams include: MTA LT; MEA Aspiring regional team Key Performance Indicators Financial and Business Results: . IM revenue & MR . Direct Responsibility Market Share Strategy/Market Focus: . Effectiveness of MTA long and short-term financial strategies: resource allocation, sourcing, investments, etc . Delivery and quality of MTA business plan: timeliness, detail, insight, innovation . Internal customer satisfaction with quality, appropriateness, and timeliness of financial analyses provided by the Finance group . Regional/Global coordination: alignment with Regional/Global strategies, best-practice import/export, Pharma forum participation Operational Excellence: . Audit success rate . Auditor and Novartis Finance personnel's satisfaction with audit efficiency and provision of requested materials People, Capabilities, and Management: . Finance and Admin group satisfaction and retention . Minimum requirements Ideal Background Education : . University degree in business or related field . Advanced degree in business, finance, or economics; MBA preferred . Relevant tax and/or financial planning certifications preferred . English & French . Country language Experience: . Extensive experience (10-12 years) in financial administration roles (both BPA and FRA), with record of increasing responsibility scopes, and successful and effective financial planning, control, and audits . Strong and proactive business results-focus, and proven ability to provide insights that increase business volume and profit . Excellent financial modelling and control process design abilities . Thorough understanding of relevant tax and governance codes, and ability to ensure compliance across a complex and geographically-dispersed organization . Thorough understanding of Pharma business cycle and financial issues, including its regulatory environment . Excellent communication and leadership skills, with proven ability to manage and develop other financial professionals
