Our client is a newly established logistics and shipping organization and as part of their growth we are recruiting a UAE experienced air freight dangerous goods specialist to join their Dubai team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the airfreight dangerous goods administration and operations to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers.

Candidates must have IMDG and CODEX certificates and experience of working with dangerous goods at Dubai International Airport.

Role Summary

• Dangerous goods administration - International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code) labelling, managing port restrictions, declaring dangerous goods to the port authorities and creating DG manifests.

• Carry out HAZMAT inspections where possible to ensure the correct storage, handling, packing and shipping of dangerous goods by road, sea and air.

• Manage the dangerous goods and cargo safety operations in line with Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), IMO and IATA regulations.

• Maintain up-to-date records of dangerous goods in storage to ensure they are stored in line with regulations and insurance policies.

• Ensure operations team have sufficient awareness of the dangerous goods processes and emergency procedures to ensure compliance.

• Handle air freight inquiries and quotations and coordinate with local and international clients.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience of dangerous goods air shipment regulations and operations gained with an import / export freight forwarder.

• Working Knowledge of international airfreight import / export customs regulations, documentation and clearance and inspection - MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), Non DG Declaration; CAT 6 and CAT 9.

• Strong working knowledge of DSEAR risk assessments and COSHH.

• Knowledge in Mirsal II and CALOGI.

• Deep expertise in hazardous waste transport and shipment regulations, flammable and toxic gas, flammable solids and liquids, substances liable to spontaneous combustion, oxidizers, corrosives and batteries.

Candidate Profile

• Currently living in the United Arab Emirates \xe2\x80\x93 must be able to work in Dubai.

• Good command of English as this is a client and 3rd party facing role.

• Professional appearance with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree
