Job Description

Monitoring CCTV Cameras:

Constantly observe and monitor live video feeds from CCTV cameras across the premises (buildings, parking lots, public spaces, etc.). Identify any suspicious or unusual activities in real time.
2.

Recording & Documentation:

Ensure that the CCTV system is recording and storing footage correctly. Document and log important events, incidents, or security breaches. Manage video footage retention and retrieval requests.
3.

Responding to Incidents:

Alert security personnel or emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) in case of suspicious activity or emergencies. Coordinate with on-site security staff to provide information and assist in incident response.
4.

Ensuring Camera Functionality:

Regularly check the operation of CCTV equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly. Report malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors or technical teams.
5.

Data Protection & Privacy:

Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations regarding privacy and data protection. Safeguard footage and sensitive data, ensuring it is not improperly accessed.
6.

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform basic troubleshooting or maintenance of CCTV systems. Report and escalate technical issues that require external repair or service.
7.

Communication:

Communicate with other security personnel, such as security guards or management, regarding potential threats or ongoing situations. Coordinate with relevant authorities when necessary, such as during incidents of theft or vandalism.
8.

Providing Evidence:

In cases of criminal activity or incidents, provide video footage as evidence to law enforcement, investigators, or legal teams. Sometimes, operators may be asked to testify or provide insight into the footage during legal proceedings.
9.

Enforcing Security Protocols:

Ensure that the surveillance system follows organizational security policies. Monitor and detect any breaches of security protocols (such as unauthorized access or suspicious movement).
10.

Reporting:

Prepare and submit detailed reports regarding any security breaches or noteworthy incidents. Provide shift reports on any unusual activities detected during their watch.
