Job Purpose
The Specialist, Cathodic Protection should act as the Subject Matter Expert for all Cathodic Protection related issues and provides high level engineering expertise in the resolution of problems related to cathodic protection systems with reference to Corporate CP Specifications.Subject matter expert for all Cathodic Protection Specialist (CPS) related issues and provides high level engineering expertise in the resolution of problems related to Cathodic Protection systems with reference to Corporate Cathodic Protection Specifications.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Provides professional and technical advices on all cathodic protection activities for all facilities, including the wellhead platforms, pipelines, tanks, buried vessels, top side piping's, etc. Initiates, reviews and implements new systems designs, make modifications, upgrade CP systems as required. Assists Projects teams in the design, construction, interpretation & application of Engineering schematics & diagrams related to cathodic protection systems. Monitors, controls and maintains effective performance measures for the existing cathodic protection facilities, studies/solves interference problems using on/off measurements techniques, supervises general maintenance and manages / implements records of periodic survey readings. Initiates, manages and audits cathodic protection services contracts and endorses Potential Survey Reports and Audits. Prepares appropriate specific and periodical reports with full interpretation and recommendations and performs periodical tests and inspections. Participates in the reviewing, implementation and maintenance of company-wide Corrosion and Inspection Management System (CMS/IMS) and related procedures for corrosion monitoring, control and material selection related to CP system. Promotes use of specialized computer programs and recommends selection of suitable software package. Supervises and trains UAE Nationals in Cathodic Protection. Minimum Qualification
B.Sc. in Corrosion Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrochemistry or other relevant engineering discipline. Preferably with additional business qualification in cathodic protection or NACE Certified. Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
At least 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, with emphasis on corrosion control and mitigation. At least 10 years' experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of CP systems within the oil/gas production industry. Computer skill of MS office package / CP Software Professional Certifications
Cathodic Protection certified training - NACE standards or equivalent 8 years of experience, including experience in the oil and gas industry, with emphasis on corrosion control and mitigation covering corrosion monitoring, protective coatings, Cathodic Protection. Cathodic Protection or NACE Certified CP Specialist. Job Type: Full-time
